  2. I adopted my Mustang, Sage, in 2008 when he was 2. He was vaccinated without incident in 2009. However, in 2010, he had a reaction to his vaccines. Eyes were glazed, head down, wouldn’t walk, eat, drink, shook/shivered. It was a horrible, long night. I was told his reaction was not too severe, but it was incredibly scary. Since then, we’ve spread out his vaccines over 2 week periods without any more incidents. This past spring we gave him the new 5-way vaccine without reaction. I admit, it still scares me and I am present for every vaccination with my amazing vet.

    • Wow. It is amazing to me to hear these stories, partly because, like, how could I have missed hearing them all this time? Maka’s reaction lasted four weeks–so very scary. I am happy to hear that Sage is now fine! Thank you for writing!
