Mustang Tales: Bringing Readers to the Range

Clicking the link below will take you to my new column, written for the American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign and for the thousands of wild horses that roam the West, as well as those mustangs in captivity in short- and longterm holding facilities. Sadly these horses are in need of human help to survive human politics, fences, water issues, misunderstanding, and persecution.

I am lucky to live near the Spring Creek Basin mustang herd in southwestern Colorado, about sixty horses of all ages who are, unbeknownst to them, my daily mentors, guiding me toward tranquility and a deeper understanding of the importance of family.

I am also lucky to be friends with herd documenter and amazing mustang photographer TJ Holmes, also my mustang mentor. Whenever possible her photographs will accompany my words.

The columns will appear here on my blog as they appear on the American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign website and Facebook page. Thank you for caring!
